“In December of 2011 I sprain my medial collateral ligament on my right knee. After having a MRI, I found out I had a large amount of joint effusion (swollen knee), severe synovial proliferation (inflammation), chondral defect (cartridge damage), complex Bakers cyst, and Osteoarthritis. I was not able to bend my knee nor could I straighten it. Walking and moving around was difficult. It was suggested I opt for physical therapy, but I was not sure where to go. I was on my way home from a doctor’s appointment when I noticed that there was a building in a shopping center, Sterling Physical Therapy and Aquatics. From the minute I called them to walking through the door I have had nothing but great satisfaction from Deborah, the owner, and her staff. They are all professional, team oriented, respectful, and they have compassion for their patients. They listen to what their patients have to say.

Deborah set me up with a terrific therapist, Chris. My first appointment was a consultation where we discussed what occurred, what was my goal, and what are my best options. During that time Chris measured the bend in my knee to be 93%, which was way below what a normal bend should be. He started me off on some no impact exercises to work the fluid out of my knee, which was difficult for me. Over the years I dislocated my knee on multiple occasions which instilled a fear in me. I immediately tensed up when a doctor, or even Chris, go near my knee. But with his direction, caring nature and detailed instructions my sense of fear diminished. Within 3 months I went from a 93% bend, icing my knee three times a day, not being able to really walk to a 132% bend, working out in the gym, to walking. What a great sense of accomplishment. Before this occurrence I was an avid hiker (hiking up steep hill sides) and attending various active events. To be brought down the way I did was traumatic for me. But all thanks to Sterling Physical Therapy and Aquatics I am now able to get back out and the things I love to do.

“My experience at Sterling was easy from the first appointment to my discharge. I live in Westlake Village and had an ACL repair (knee surgery) My doctor referred me to therapy near my home. I was one of 10 people in a room with one aide. I saw the therapist one time at the eval and that was it. I thought, ‘Am I going to get better when there was really no true therapist treating me?’ So after 2 visits I called my doctor for another therapy office and he told me, ‘The best therapy is across town in Simi Valley called Sterling, if you want to make the 15 minute drive, I will fax them your info and a prescription.’ My answer was, ‘YES.’ I called Sterling and was giving an appt for the next day. The physical therapist who did my assessment was EXCELLENT and then I never saw her again. “My doctor sent me to Sterling Physical Therapy after running all kind of tests for my dizzy spells. I was a bit skeptical thinking what can therapy do? Well, my first day my therapist diagnose me and started treatment. I can’t say enough good things about Maricar. She started out slowly working on my balance. I never even knew I had a balance issue. Most people do and don’t even know it. Each appointment Maricar worked on slowly advancing me to the point I didn’t have any more dizziness. She explained everything and why each exercise was important. Get this. During the last few visits, she put up two standard eye charts on either side of me. She had me spin around reading each chart letter. The first time, I couldn’t even stand up after the fourth line. After more exercises I was finally able to do the eight lines on the chart and I NEVER got dizzy. After spinning around, I didn’t even need to sit down and just stood straight up. Even my wife was amazed watching me do it at home. I know most people don’t go to therapy for dizziness, but if Sterling Physical Therapy can successfully treat vertigo then I know they can handle any type of therapy you might need. ALL the people were really nice and helpful. The ladies in the front office were great and all the therapists I saw working on different patients really seemed to care. If I ever had an issue with my back, neck, or any part of my body I will not hesitate going to Sterling. “

He is knowledgeable re kinesiology and physiology science, so he understands what a patient is telling him regarding their physical limitations, injuries and pain. All of that is a fancy way of saying he is excellent at what he does. “

“I am the Administrator for SterlingPT. While working at my desk, I developed an excruciating pain on the right-side of my neck. As the day progressed, I could not turn my head and the smallest movement caused sharp pains. I immediately reached out to Valencia Harris, PTA and she guided me over the phone. She was even willing to come in on her off day. Toward the end of the day, my neck and right shoulder became stiff. Alain Tran, PTA took me on as a patient and provided excellent quality care. It’s one thing to be the manager of a group of Physical Therapists. But, to be an actually patient gives me new perspective. He was extremely careful not to cause me any additional discomfort. Alain walked me through each step and ensured I was able to tolerate the different levels of intensity. Jackson Buckley (PT Technician) assisted Alain by removing the lumbar and cervical hot packs and electrodes from my neck. I was able to move and turn my neck with minimal pain. I followed Alain instructions and feel much better this morning. I know with continued therapy, my pain level will be close to non-existent. “I highly recommend Sterling Physical Therapy. I had physical therapy at Sterling in 2017 when there was one location (Sugar Land). I am not surprised that there are three locations now. The staff is knowledgeable and professional. There was barely any wait time to see my therapist when I arrived and they were never over booked. My doctor ordered an ultrasound of my shoulder and it was done by portable ultrasound on site, no need to go to an imaging center. I love the app with my at home exercises complete with demo videos. When I completed all of my on site sessions, I was given a certificate and a cool t-shirt! That’s a first for me and I’ve had physical therapy quite a few times because of surgeries over the years. “
