The Shoulder Clinic

Our youth are playing organized sports earlier and earlier in life. Many experts question the motor stability of our children, and if they are ready to play such vigorous sports at a young age. We know one thing that is imperative, by providing specialized exercise programs to our youth; overuse injuries, joint laxity, muscle imbalances, and degenerative changes can be minimized. As a result, performance will increase.

Sterling Physical Therapy and Wellness has created a specialized program for athletes who play sports that involve throwing a ball. These specific sports include: baseball, softball, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and even golf.

Our focus in this program is emphasis on; proper mechanics, strength, stability, and flexibility. Our 8 week program will accomplish these goals in 8 specific phases, which will include:

  • Neuro-dynamic Stability
  • Perturbation Training
  • Motor Learning Principles
  • Proprioceptive & Kinesthetic Training
  • Closed Kinetic Chain Training

You will see an increase in pitching speed by 2-6 mph at the conclusion of the program!

The Knee Clinic

Many sports require significant agility, pivoting, landing and jumping. Knee stability is essential for most sports and is the most common joint injured in organized sports.

Sterling Physical Therapy and Wellness has developed a program, in which its focus is decreasing chances of injury, increasing athletic agility. You will see improvements in 12 weeks with an increase in vertical jump height by >3".
